Bayern Munich: Al-Duhail or El Ahly opponents at the FIFA Club World Cup
Champions League winners FC Bayern Munich will face either Al-Duhail SC or El Ahly Cairo in the semifinal of the FIFA Club World Cup. The teams, which are based in Qatar and Egypt will face each other in the quarterfinals. The winner will face Bayern on Feb. 8 (18:00 GMT) in the semifinal. Last year Liverpool won the Club World Cup.
After the withdrawal of Auckland City FC, the tournament will kick off with the two quarterfinals on Feb. 4. The final will take place on Feb. 11 (18:00 GMT). Champions League winners Bayern Munich and the Copa Libertadores winners—either Palmeiras or Santos (final on Jan.30)—are directly qualified for the semifinals.
Concacaf Champions League winners Tigres UANL will face South Korean side Ulsan Hyundai in the other quarterfinal. The winner of that game will face the winner of the Copa Libertadores final. Bayern Munich could win their sixth title within just a few months. Only Barcelona in 2009 had a similar run.
